The article "Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now?"
is about president Obama and Mitt Romney not discussing the issues of climate
change and how big of an issue it is in the world. The article is also about
the warming of the atmosphere which makes the sea water to get warm causing ice
to melt in the arctic and Antarctic. A hurricane is formed when sea water is
too warm, the climate change adds moisture to the air which can cause storms to
have more rain which means more flooding, climate changes also cause more frequent
and intense hurricanes like sandy. Rising sea levels may create normal sea
height for future storm surges. Gov.
Andrew Cuomo of New York says "we have a 100-year flood every two years
now" an issue he told President Obama about. This country is in need of stronger Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA), making Romney’s suggestions that
“FEMA be privatized” particularly ridiculous and Michael Brown, the FEMA
director during hurricane Katrina, scolding Obama for responding to sandy “so
quickly” strange. Eskimos in Alaska stated that, “If we can’t see that
something extraordinary is going on in the world around us, we’re in trouble.” People
need to invest more in cleaner energy and say no to greenhouse gases. We need to realize that it’s our fault way
there is climate changes, it’s what we do and the things we use and what we let
into the atmosphere and sea waters that is causing storms that is wiping out
houses and killing people so now it’s time for us to fix our problems and try
and story climate changes.
Great post. Do you mean "stop climate change" in the last sentence? Do you think that is possible, or should we just prepare for the inevitable effects of climate change? 100
