The article "texting may be taking a toll" by Katie Hafner is about the effect texting may be haveing on teenagers. Dr. Martin Joffe, a pediatrician. recently surveyed students at two high schools and said he found that many were routinely sending hundreds of texts every day. Texting have found to cause health issues in a teenager's bodies. Texting late at night can cause sleeping issues were a teen's body is not getting enough sleep. Textxing can also be taking a tool on teen's thumbs, because of the fast and excessive texting this can cause pain and cramping in the thumbs. Peter W. Johnson a professor, says "it's too too early to tell whether this kind of stress is damaging but based on our experiences with computer users we have some reason to be concerned that too much texting can cause temporary or permanent damage to the thumbs." My personal opinion of texting is that if you know how to control how much and how late you text it will be ok for you to text bu if you do it excessively and have no control you should most likely take a break from texting. In my life i have limits to what i do so texting late at night for me is out of the question because I like my sleep and i know that lack of sleep can hurt the body. so once you know when to take a pause to texting and how often you should text i don't see a problem with texting but if you do it to the point were it is affecting your health you should considered yourself as having a problem with texting and get help.

  1. Nice post, especially your summary, which is succinct yet comprehensive. Do you think teenagers will know when it's time to get help, or do you feel their parents need to be more active? 95
